With a proven track record as a security lead and head of multiple secure Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) systems, Chris has safeguarded sensitive data while ensuring essential information flows to those who need it. His expertise spans legacy systems and modern platforms, balancing compliance with practical delivery to meet stringent standards without compromising progress.
Chris is a seasoned risk manager, technical team leader, and project manager, specialising in Cyber Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC). He combines strategic insight with hands-on technical knowledge, translating complex security concepts into clear business language. From “boots on the ground” operational security to high-level strategic planning, Chris brings a holistic perspective to every engagement.
He is highly familiar with regulatory frameworks and has hands-on experience implementing standards such as ISO 27001, JSP, and NIST. His strong understanding of secure IT architecture and technical solutions ensures robust, pragmatic security measures that support business objectives.
After leaving the Armed Forces in 2021, Chris joined 6point6 as a Senior Consultant working in Central Government, before moving to BAE Digital Intelligence as a Principal Security Consultant. He later founded Shielded Solutions with a mission to deliver honest, pragmatic security—moving away from the outdated perception of security as a “blocker” and instead enabling secure, efficient operations.
Passionate about protecting people and public services, Chris’s experience within policing systems has helped him build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, maintaining the highest standards of security and assurance
